Magistrate Danielle Schantz was born and raised in the Cleveland area and graduated from Westlake High School in Cuyahoga County. She resides with her family in Wayne County. Magistrate Schantz obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science & Sociology from Baldwin-Wallace University (College), her Masters of Education degree from Loyola University of Chicago, and her juris doctorate (summa cum laude) from the University of Akron. Magistrate Schantz was Editor-in-Chief of the Akron Law Review and taught legal writing and research following graduation. Magistrate Schantz worked as an attorney at an education law firm in Summit County before joining the Summit County Juvenile Court.
Magistrate Schantz has worked at the Court under the leadership of Judge Linda Tucci Teodosio since May 2021. Magistrate Schantz worked initially as a Judicial Attorney and was recently appointed as a part-time Magistrate in June 2024. Magistrate Schantz runs the Truancy Docket which handles truancy and failure to send cases.
Magistrate Schantz has a passion for working with families and assisting them to resolve barriers to school attendance. Magistrate Schantz formerly served on the school board in her community and was very involved in community fundraising to support the work of her school district. Magistrate Schantz is a member of the Akron Bar Association and the Ohio Association of Magistrates.
